I found my car in Malibu, California and it was abandoned since the early 1990s. I bought it in 2004 and it was in horrible shape. The car was originally a light grey headliner with gray interior but the California Sun took its toll on the inside of the car and totally destroyed it. Over the course of 12 years I gutted out the car an added custom two-tone grey/black interior with custom stitching and inside the two-tone seats I added two stage low high seat heaters. Inside of the car is all custom lit up with blue LEDs along with custom blue electroluminescent panels backlighting Custom Stainless Steel made Dash plaques and the DMC/Momo steering wheel. The carpet is still Factory original as it was the only thing in the car that was salvageable. The factory engine has been completely custom powder coated in metallic bangle silver, and had every single bolt re-plated just like all the original factory brackets. The factory plastic air box has been replaced with a Special T Auto Custom Stainless Steel air box hooked to a cold air intake and K&N Filter. The exhaust is the DeLorean performance Industries Spec 1 with cat delete pipes.
I’m replacing the original factory wheels with another set of factory wheels that have been powder coated and machine faced. The car rides on the DeLorean performance Industries Performance Suspension that has custom full coil over struts along with stainless steel lower control arms and stainless steel rear radius arms an adjustable dog bone links for the rear. Also the entire brake system has been replaced with the DeLorean performance Industries Performance brake package that now replaces the front calipers to 4 piston calipers with cross drilled and slotted brake rotors and the rear is all brand new with updated stainless steel internals in the calipers. For the outside appearance that I added the wide stripe kit and a high mount third brake light on the top Louver an added white halo headlights with HIDs. I still am thinking about putting a body kit on the car but not sure yet. Over the course of 12 years I’ve done all this work by myself in my garage and I’ve had help along the way where I needed an extra hand and a point in the right direction from other experienced people. If it wasn’t for this car I wouldn’t have the career that I have.
